Tracey Panek established Maori Mo Ake Tonu or “Maori Forever” in 2000 to preserve Maori performing arts. In addition to directing this San Francisco Bay Area group, Tracey has taught workshops throughout Northern California and classes through the City of Walnut Creek. Tracey has graded in Level 1 Mau Rakau for Maori weaponry and completed a certificate in Maori Performing Arts from the Manaakitanga Aotearoa Trust. Tracey (Nga Puhi Maori tribe) has performed throughout the Western United States and Hawaii. She teaches skillful poi dances, story-telling action songs, and haka.
