Creelman, Rick Creelman

Rick CreelmanI started playing folk guitar when I was a teenager back in the 1960’s. I picked up the ukulele on a trip to Hawaii 10 or so years ago. I studied ukulele with James Hill and others in Hawaii and Canada. I’ve played ukulele and steel guitar in several groups, including the Ukulele Friends Ohana (UFO’s), mostly old pop songs and Hawaiian music. Every Saturday afternoon at Sleeping Lady Café in Fairfax, I co-host a ukulele sing-along with the UFO’s. Lately we have between 50 and 60 ukulele players participating. I teach an ukulele class on Sundays. I have been a member of the Marin Harmony acapella chorus since the year 2000 and wrote the arrangements to some of their songs.
