Jereme Altenberg grew up in Berkeley, California (Kensington, to be exact for those natives). Through his earlier years he had the joy of attending Crowden Strings summer camps, where he cut his teeth for his interest in music. He attended Berkeley High and took part in both the Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble, on Violin, Guitar, and Bass. Jereme teaches at BandWorks over the summer, and plays locally during the year in New Orleans in various jazz and folk groups. If you ever need to find him aways from his instrument, search for the smell of coffee – he’ll be there.
